The Inves (インベス Inbesu) are a race of monsters who act as the secondary antagonists, led by an Overlord Inves, the main antagonist in the 2013-14 Kamen Rider Series Kamen Rider Gaim.

The Inves are strange monsters that are thought to only exist within the newly popular Inves Games, which involves Lockseeds. They are eventually revealed to be actual monstrous animals that can travel to and from an alternate dimension known as the Helheim Forest to wreak havoc on Zawame. The standard variant of Inves is known as a Elementary Inves, a form humans are familiar with as the forms the Inves take while in a Inves Game.

However, the Inves can also take on a Berserker State (凶暴態 Kyōbōtai), and only a Kamen Rider has the power to put a Inves in a Berserker State down. An Inves's Berserker state is triggered by eating a mature Lockseed.

When the Inves in its Berserker State consumes another mature Lockseed, be it the one that summoned them or a completely different Lockseed, such as when the Shika Inves ate Gaim's Ichigo Lockseed, they will evolve into higher form called Evolved State (進化態 Shinkatai). If an Elementary Inves consumes a multitude of Lockseeds, than it is capable of bypassing Berserker State and evolve straight into its Evolved State.

The Inves reveal to have a virus. When attacking, the victims will have the plants from Helheim come out from the victims' body, as well most likely turned into an Inves. The Inves also seem to know and are able to control the virus, such as when the Inves first started to attack people no one was affected. However, the Inves only seem to affect people and inanimate objects when the need more Immature Lockseeds in Helheim. With that, all of the Inves were actually the lifeform organisms that comes from Earth when eating an Immature Lockseed fruits from Helheim.

Ironically, at the same time during the outbreak reveals when a human creatures eat the immatured Lockseeds will turn into Inves, able to returned into human form, however some body parts and minds are unable to return into a current state, but luckily they don't carry a virus.

An ordinary Inves are ruled by an Overlord Inves, a high-intelligent Inves that is far more superior than humans, the mastermind behind the outbreak and being a ruler of the Helheim. Unlike an ordinary Inves, Overlord Inves does have a human intellects, such as can speak like humans for example.

Notes

  • The Inves are similar to the Mirror Monsters from Kamen Rider Ryuki in that they are more animal-life compared to the usually human-level intelligent kaijin in the Kamen Rider Series and are summoned by characters to face off against each other as well as taking a backseat to the conflicts between the Kamen Riders of their shows. In the case of the Inves, their status as monster of the week is even further subverted. They are also an homage to Bakugan, as they are creatures from another dimension that initially people used to battle each other in games before learning the truth behind them.
  • Deemushu and Redyue's title as the Overlord Inves is similar to the Overlord from Kamen Rider Agito. Both are an intellegent and superior being, and the main antagonists of their respective series.
    • However, the Overlord Inves is more similar to El Lords from Kamen Rider Agito. Both are also a type of monster that can fluently speak and they are the leader of different types of the monsters. For example, Deemushu is the leader of Red Inves, while El of Water is the leader of aquatic-type Lords.
  • There are three different type of Inves that feature Chinese (Green), Japanese (Blue), and Western (Red). Each type of Inves design come from different designers:
    • Chinese (Green): Akihiro Yamada
    • Japanese (Blue): Tamotsu Shinohara
    • Western (Red): Niθ
  • The name Inves comes from an abbreviation of the term "Invasive Species".
