Tobaspino

トバスピノ
ZyuDenRyuu Tobaspino.jpg

ZyuDenchi 00

The first ZyuDenRyuu

A navy blue Spinosaurus (スピノサウルス).

Name comes from Tobasu (To hurl, To skip over) and Spinosaurus.

Spino Dai-Oh

スピノダイオー
SpinoDaioh.jpg

Combined with Tobaspino, Ankydon, and Bunpachy.

Amano Mikoto

天野美琴
KyouryuugerMeeko.jpg

Also known as the pop star Meeko.

Played by Nakamura Shizuka

Deathryuuger calls her the Legendary Descendent since she's the descendent of the Priestess whose song originally put Tobaspino to sleep. Meeko/Mikoto are both puns on the Japanese word Miko which means Priestess.

Apparently she's friends with Daigo. She calls him Dai-kun instead of King. In the flashbacks, they appear to be in France.

Daigo gives her a necklace which she refers to as her treasure. It's red and shaped like a triangle and has a fang on it. It's symbolic of both their goals to accomplish their dreams. Mikoto wants to be a singer and Daigo wants to be a strong man who has followed the Dinosaur's Path.

Chevalier of Ferocity D / Deathryuuger

獰猛の戦騎D/デスリュウジャー
Deathryuuger.jpg

Voiced by Miyano Mamoru

The first Chevalier, created in response to the ZyuDenRyuu. He drove Tobaspino mad and together, they helped drive the dinosaurs to extinction. Eventually D is killed by Tobaspino when a human priestess' song restores Tobaspino's sanity.

In Japanese, Ferocity is Doumou, which is another word that begins with D.

Dino Girls

ディノガールズ

The way it's written, it could also mean D no Girls which is D's Girls in Japanese.

Lemnear

レムネア
KyouryuugerLemnear.jpg

Played by Momose Misaki

Dressed in white.

Speaks in a sweet voice, but frequently talks about making things go extinct. Also says "Bang" a lot.

Earthy

Played by Tsukui Minami

Trivia

  • D plays a flute to control Tobaspino, similar to DragonRanger with his ZyuSouKen which he used to control Dragon Caeser.
  • The forced combination with Tobaspino is similar to when the Bakuryuu were stolen in Abaranger to combine with Top Galer.
  • Director signature: Flying bike action are often seen in works directed by Sakamoto Koichi.
  • Designer K-SuKe confirms that there's a hidden Wizard of Oz theme to the Deboss Army. So the Chevalier of Ferocity D is secretly based on Toto. There's a small dog in D's head when the helmet is removed.
  • K-SuKe says Mikoto's necklace is based on a dream catcher. Dream catchers are usually round, but since Daigo made it, it's triangle (shaped like a fang) and red! Of course, this was made before he became a Kyouryuuger, but the designer felt like it made sense.
  • There's an obvious boomerang design in Spinodai-Oh's symbol and cockpit design. Deathryuuger fights with a boomerang.
  • Aigallon is dancing Gangnam Style during Candelira's song. He's also seen trying to present her flowers, but she walks away with Luckyuro without noticing.
  • When Ucchii is telling Pteragordon to use his Shut Goggles, he pronounces it in a very Japanese way. The captions for it write it in hiragana (alphabet for Japanese), instead of katakana (alphabet for foreign words) as shatto googuru.

Actor Trivia

  • D is voiced by Miyano Mamoru who is also the voice of Ultraman Zero.
  • Nakamura Shizuka (Meeko) was also Tama-chan the cafeteria lady in Rescue Fire.
  • Momose Misaki (Lemnear) was Doji-chan on Kodai Shoujotai Dogoon V and has a role in the upcoming movie Aka X Pink (Also directed by Sakamoto Koichi).
  • Tsukui Minami (Earthy) is a stunt woman who has been in a lot of toku shows. She was the Grasshopper Woman from Kamen Rider W.
