Ultraman Mebius is the 40th anniversary Ultraman series. As an anniversary series, all previously featured Ultramen from the Nebula-M78 universe make an appearance in it.
Plot
Ultraman Mebius, a rookie warrior of the Space Garrison of Nebula-M78, is chosen by the Supreme Commander of the Space Garrison, the Ultra Father, to be the new protector of Earth. He arrives on an Earth which has not seen a Kaiju or Ultraman for 25 years, and spots Ryuu, a member of GUYS, the force responsible for the defense of Earth from extra-terrestrial forces, reciting the "words of Ultraman".
Shortly after arriving, Earth is attacked by a Dinozoor which breaks through the satellite defense, which also destroys the entire fleet of CREW GUYS JAPAN Gun Crusaders. Only Ryuu and Captain Serizawa's Gun Crusader did not explode immediately, and the Captain ejects Ryuu out of the gunship while seemingly dying when it crashed and exploded.
Ultraman Mebius, as Hibino Mirai, joins CREW GUYS JAPAN, and convinced the new captain, Captain Sakomizu, to allow several people he met while helping to evacuate the town, join to defend Earth too, as he feels that they have the right heart.

Trivia
- Some people over-translate ウルトラマンメビウス (Urutoraman Mebiusu) to Ultraman Moebius, since it refers to Mebius' infinity symbol theme, a Möbius strip. The official spelling and pronounciation supports it as Ultraman Mebius, however.
