Definition

Literally means "strange person". In the world of tokusatsu, it means a "humanoid monster".

More Information

Trivia: The kanji for kai 怪 is the same in kaiju. Kai by itself means "mystery, suspicious, apparition".

Example

Most of the monsters in Kamen Rider series are kaijin, since they tend to be humanoid.
