番長 Bancho

Definition: Juvenile delinquent leader, gang leader, tough guy.

Often dressing in long coats, saggy pants, and sporting regent hair. Often seen as tough guys.

A female banchou would be a sukeban.

Examples

  • Gentarou from Fourze has the look of a banchou, but takes the stereotype and turns it on his head, since he's not really a delinquent.
